(KAIR) -- U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas, author of Startup Act 2.0, called on Congress and President Obama this past week to support polices that better enable the United States to compete in the global battle for entrepreneurial and highly skilled immigrants.
Moran says entrepreneurial immigrants have long contributed to the strength of the economy by starting companies and creating jobs.

Of the current Fortune 500 companies, more than 40 percent were founded by a first- or second-generation American.
Today, one in every 10 Americans employed at a privately-owned U.S. company works at an immigrant-owned firm.
Moran says Startup Act 2.0 makes changes to the federal regulatory process.

Since 2011, at least seven other countries have taken action to better support and attract entrepreneurs, including the United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Chile, and Canada.
