( KNZA )-A new Doniphan County undersheriff has been named, and deputy hired.
Sheriff Chad Clary told county commissioners this week that deputy Mark Allen has been elevated to the position of undersheriff.
Following a closed-door session, commissioners voted to set the undersheriff’s salary at $38,000 for 2013 based on the fact that Allen was given a promotion within the department but received a reduction in pay.
Clary also informed commissioners that William Scott Hirtler has been hired as a full-time deputy. Hirtler will begin work Monday at a salary of $14.65 a hour, with no county benefits.
