(KAIR) -- Severe weather season is creeping up on us and the National Weather Service has scheduled several SkyWARN Storm Spotter talks in the region.
The first will be February 25th at 7 pm at Warren Middle School in Leavenworth.
It continues February 28th at 7 pm at the Horton High School Auditorium.
They will be in Holton March 13th at 7 pm at the Jackson Co Senior Center, in Doniphan County March 14th at 7 pm at Troy Community Building and March 20th at the Oskaloosa Middle School.
The talks continue March 23rd at 1 pm at the Grace Evangelical Church in Saint Joseph and conclude April 2nd at 7 pm at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.
One will not be offered in Atchison County this year due to scheduling issues.
Presentations are typically around 90 minutes long, and are given by a meteorologist from the National Weather Service.
Spotter training will focus on storm structure and accurate identification of important cloud features associated with super cell and squall line thunderstorms.
