(KAIR) -- A mental evaluation has been granted for a 25-year-old Atchison man who pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary last month.
Atchison County District Judge Martin Asher honored the request for Tremell Bratton at what was supposed to be his sentencing Monday in Atchison County District Court.
Bratton will now make his next appearance in court February 11th.
He was arrested December 6th for breaking into a home in the 12 hundred block of South 2nd Street.
He fled after the residents discovered him, and was later discovered hiding in a vacant neighboring house that he broke into.
County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman says Bratton qualifies for presumptive prison since he was on felony probation when the burglaries occurred.
