(KNZA)--Details remain sketchy regarding an investigation into the death of  a Highland man earlier this month.

Despite numerous attempts to contact Doniphan County Attorney Charles Baskins regarding specifics of why the Kansas Bureau of Investigation is heading up the probe into the death of John Paul “Johnny” Jenkins, no new information is gained, as Baskins refuses to reply to questions emailed to him.

His office confirms the emails have been received and provided to him.

Kansas Bureau of Investigation Deputy Director Kyle Smith last week referred us to Baskins, who Smith said is handling all media inquiries regarding the case.

However, the numerous attempts to contact Baskins have gone unreturned.

Past attempts to reach him by telephone have also been unsuccessful.

Jenkins died on the morning of January 5th, with the Highland Police Department quickly launching an investigation into the suspicious death, suspected to involve foul play, prior to turning it over to the KBI.
