( KNZA )--A three-vehicle accident on K-4 Highway south of Meriden late Tuesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital--one with serious injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that 54-year-old Barry Depoy of Nortonville was traveling north when his pickup went left of center and clipped a southbound van before colliding head-on with a car behind the van.
The car’s driver, 56-year-old Claudi Wilson of Meriden, was flown to the KU Medical Center in Kansas City with what the patrol described as disabling injuries.
One of her passengers, 58-year-old Stanley Wilson of Meriden, and Depoy were taken to Topeka hospitals with possible injuries.
The van’s driver, 29-year-old Jennifer Mason of Valley Falls, a 4-year-old passenger in her van, and a second passenger in the car were listed as receiving possible injuries. However, they were not transported by ambulance.
The accident, reported shortly after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon ,shut down K-4 for two hours.
