(KTNC) - If you’ve ever been curious to know how much energy your home appliances and electronic devices consume, the Falls City Library has something that can provide that information.
The Library has received two wattage detectors from the Omaha Public Power District.
The wattage detector is a device that measures the amount of electricity used by household appliances. That is done by simply plugging an appliance into the detector and waiting for readings. It calculates how much it costs to run the appliance on an hourly, daily, monthly, or yearly basis.
The wattage detectors may be checked out from the Falls City Library for two weeks at a time. The Library also has instructions on how to use the device.
Falls City Library officials say it costs six-cents per 10-hour day, 42-cents a week, $1.83 a month, and $22.28 per year to run one computer at the Library.
