(KNZA)--An over night house fire in the Jackson County community of Whiting leaves the home a total loss.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says it happened at 128 East Whiting Street, which is identified as the home of John Roles.
The occupants were able to escape by jumping from a second story window.
Apparently that led to a broken ankle and foot fracture for one person, with others requiring treatment for smoke inhalation.
The exact number of those inside the home when the fire began, as well as names of those involved, are not immediately released.
The fire remains under investigation.
