( KNZA )--Irv Schwalm filed today ( Wednesday ) to retain his position as Commissioner of Streets and Parks on the Hiawatha City Commission.
Schwalm was appointed last August to fill the unexpired term of Vicki Denton.
He is the first candidate to file for two positions up for election in April on the commission.
Also up for election is the position of Commissioner of Utilities, currently held by John Sheeran.
Candidates have until noon, Tuesday to file.
