( KNZA )--Keith Olsen will serve as chairman of the Brown County Commission for 2013.
The 2nd District commissioner was appointed to the position Monday during the commission’s annual re-organization.
That came after Olsen and the six other county officials elected last November were sworn into office by District Judge Jim Patton for another 4-year-term.
In other business, County Appraiser Paula Jones informed commissioners that ag land values in the county have increased an average of 21 percent for 2013.
Ag land values are set by the state.
Commissioner Warren Ploeger announced the Brown County transfer station will now close at noon Saturdays, at least through the winter months.
The transfer station had been closing at 3 in the afternoon on Saturdays, but Ploeger said there hasn’t been much business after noon.
The Brown County Commission will hold their regular meeting next Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday.
