(KTNC) - A house fire in Falls City left only minor damage Friday evening. The Falls City Volunteer Fire Department was called to the home at 702 Wilson Street shortly after 6:00 p.m. Friday.
Fire Chief Ken Simpson tells us a fire in a wood stove ignited a portion of the home’s roof on fire.
Simpson says damage to the roof was confined to the section around the wood stove chimney and an area where firefighters cut a hole in the roof to vent smoke from the house. Damage inside the home was mainly water damage.
Two people were home at the time of the fire and neither was injured.
Fourteen Falls City Volunteer fire fighters responded to the call. They were on scene until about 8:30 Friday evening.
