(KTNC) - The Nemaha Natural Resources District Board of Directors will meet at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in Tecumseh.
New members elected in November will be sworn into office at the start of the meeting. The board will then elect its officers for the year and select representatives to the Nebraska Natural Resources Commission.
The board will discuss enacting a 180-day moratorium on the construction of new wells in the Nemaha NRD. Discussion will also take place on how well permits would be handled should the board approve a moratorium on new well construction.
Board action is expected on a contract with JEO Consulting to update the district’s hazard mitigation plan, and to set a date to appoint people to fill vacancies in sub-district 3 and sub-district 4.
