(KAIR) -- A reception will be held next week to honor two outgoing Atchison County leaders.
The county will honor Sheriff John Calhoon and County Commissioner Tom Wagner January 9th from 12:30 until 2:30 in the County Commission room within the Law Enforcement Center.
Calhoon is leaving the post after serving over 18 years in office after being defeated by Atchison Police Officer Jack Laurie in the November General Election.
Wagner is leaving the helm, serving eight years in office after not seeking another term.
Farmer Bill Pohl was elected to Wagner’s seat in November.
The new officials take office on January 14th.
