(KAIR)--An Atchison teenager is dead, following a late Sunday afternoon crash in Leavenworth County.
Dead is 15-year-old Desirae Crossland, killed when the vehicle she was riding in went off the roadway, through a fence, and rolled into a pond.
The Patrol says that happened on U.S. Highway 73, at Leavenworth County Road 33.
Crossland was taken to Saint John's Hospital, in Leavenworth, where she was pronounced dead.
Crossland's 18-year-old sister, Felicity, was behind the wheel of the Pontiac Sunfire, and apparently over corrected when the eastbound car began to drift to the left.
She suffered disabling injuries and was transported to Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth.
Another passenger, 18-year-old Kelsey Essig, of Atchison, was also transported there with disabling injuries.
The patrol says everyone in the car was buckled up.
The fatal crash happened shortly before 6:00 this evening.

Its one thing to word a headline to gain views. Its another thing to word a headline and make it sound terribly cold hearted. The wording in this article could have been changed up to at least show some respect to the family who lost their daughter. Chances of them reading this article, and being reminded by a slap in the face with the words used is just cruel, and once again cold hearted.
