(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners heard a report from Project Manager Chase Brunick on appeals on solid waste fees in Wednesday’s regular meeting.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says Commissioners requested he organize a summary worksheet of the appeals to cycle through some of the simpler ones, such as vacant lots.
He says they are still a little ways out for scheduling actual appeals.

Commissioners also voted to amend an option on transferring leftover monies from the 2012 budget.
Schuele says this will give Commissioners more flexibility into next year’s budgeting.

Commissioners may also move their annual re-organizational meeting.
Traditionally held the second Monday in January, County Counselor Pat Henderson informed Commissioners state statue allows the meeting to be held “within reasonable time.”
Schuele says Commissioners will discuss if that will be something that will occur and it will not affect the swearing in of new elected officials on January 14th.
