(KAIR) -- A Lancaster family of four was left in the cold earlier this week after their home caught fire in the Atchison County community.
According to Rural Fire District Five Fire Chief Larry Myer, crews responded to the Benjamin and Janet Taylor residence at 304 1st Street in Lancaster at 11:39 Sunday evening.
Myer says RFD Five, with the assistance of the Effingham Fire Department were able to contain the fire in 15 to 20 minutes to the living and dining room areas.
The Atchison Area American Red Cross provided assistance to the family at the scene.
The Taylors and their two teenage children were not injured.
Myer says the cause of the fire was electrical.
