(KAIR) -- A non-profit organization that is aiming to create a hub for Jefferson County community events is at risk for disbanding early next year.
“The Center Place,” headquartered in Oskaloosa has been a 501c3 organization for the last seven years.
However, four of their board members will soon be moving from Oskaloosa, out of the region, while the remaining three are expressing desire to have help after they leave.
Linda Loving, the President of the organization is one of those four moving and says the organization has taken baby steps to their ultimate goal with offering services.

She says they want it become a long-term facility and says the group has worked very hard to eventually secure a hub for Jefferson County events.

She says within that building, they would want to house offices for other non-profits and a banquet room that can seat up to 300.
Loving says they want people to stay in Jefferson County to pursue needs not found in their region.

The next regularly scheduled meeting for The Center Place is Wednesday, January 16th at 6:30pm.
If no one steps forward by this date, the Board will be forced to move forward with available options to dissolve the 501(c)3 and transfer its assets.
If you have questions regarding serving on the Board of The Center Place, you can contact Loving at thecenterplace@yahoo.com or 785-863-2398.
Anyone in Jefferson County is eligible to serve on the board.
