(KMZA)--Several days after her car was found unoccupied in the parking lot of a Nebraska City outlet mall, a 16-year-old girl from Sabetha remains missing.
Officially listed as a runaway, the Sabetha Police Department is continuing the search for Kristina Richey(Play Audio)
That's Sabetha Police Chief Robert Wahwasuck.
Kristina's mother, Diana Richey, continues to post pleas for help locating her daughter on her Facebook page, including pleas directly addressing Kristina, asking her to call and let the family, including her father, Mike, know she's safe(Play Audio)
The car was discovered Friday night.
Apparently, Kristina had told friends a truck driver agreed to meet her in Nebraska City and give her a ride to Oregon where she apparently plans to meet a friend.
Police Chief Wahwasuck says investigators are working with that theory, saying it's possible the truck driver is the father of the friend Kristina planned to meet(Play Audio)
The truck driver is now identified as 43-year-old Shane Snodgrass, whose family formerly lived in Morrill. Investigators have made brief telephone contact with Snodgrass, but he has not yet been interviewed as part of the investigation.
Wahwasuck says anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of both Snodgrass and Richey should immediately contact Sabetha Police at 785-284-2158.
Diana Richey says she does find some relief in having some knowledge of the Snodgrass family, but still wants to hear first hand that her daughter is safe:
Kristina is described as 5 foot 3, 130 pounds, with dark brown/black hair past her shoulders. She wears glasses and has hazel eyes. She may also be wearing a Mossy Oak brand pink camouflaged hoodie jacket and jeans.
