(KLZA) During the November 5th Falls City, City Council meeting a request to hire additional part-time drivers for the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department was approved.
Fire Chief Ken Simpson says the Department has operated under the same rules for drivers since 1985. He said recent job changes by some volunteers prompted the request for more part-time drivers. ( play audio :31 seconds )
Chief Simpson noted that being a driver is not as simple as jumping in the fire truck and heading out to a fire. ( play audio :43 seconds )
There are currently two full-time drivers and four part-time drivers for the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department.
