(KAIR) -- It’s been one week since an 11-year-old girl avoided an abduction attempt on a rural Atchison County road and authorities are still seeking the suspect.
Atchison County Sheriff John Calhoon says leads have slowed down but they are still working with other nearby jurisdictions to obtain information.
The incident occurred near 6804 Ottawa Road, as the intended victim was walking with her dogs.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30's that was driving a dark colored full size pick-up truck with a large dent in the driver’s rear quarter panel.
The man is believed to have dark colored brown wavy hair, a slim build with dark colored eyes and a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
Calhoon says the suspect may also have dog bite marks on a hand or ankle, believed to have been incurred as he attempted to abduct the girl.
Anyone with information about the incident or witnessed the person or truck described, they should contact the Atchison County Sheriff's Office at 913-367-4323.
