(KTNC) - The Peru State College Women’s Basketball team scored the first ten points of the game and went on to a 77-70 victory over Tabor College in the 2012-13 season opener for both teams Friday at the Al Wheeler Activity Center.
Senior Courtney Ward led the Bobcats with 21 points and 18 rebounds. She was one of three ‘Cats to score in double figures, joined by Karlee Stuart’s 13 points and Aduago Osuala’s 10 points.
The fast-paced game saw both teams turn the ball over frequently. Tabor finished with 27 turnovers, while Peru State had 26. The Bobcats had a huge advantage on the glass, out-rebounding Tabor 48-to-25.
Peru State lost an exhibition game, 91-72, to NCAA Division Two Northwest Missouri State on Saturday night.
Next up for the Lady Bobcats are games this Friday and Saturday at the Midland University Classic in Fremont.
