(KNZA)--The Jury trial began Monday for rural Valley Falls resident John Hayworth, Junior, charged with attempted first degree murder.
However, the trial came to a halt Wednesday morning, when a mistrial was declared by the judge.
Jefferson County Attorney Jason Belveal says the Judge's decision was handed down following the inadvertent showing of the wrong DVD containing evidence related to the case(Play Audio)
Hayworth was accused of the December shooting of rural Valley Falls resident William Schoonover, who was working in a field. The victim later recovered.
Hayworth pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charge in March.
