(KAIR) -- A Savannah, Missouri man will head to prison on charges in connection with a high-speed chase in Atchison earlier this spring.
Ricky Billings will serve 14 months in prison for the charge of fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
He was also given a concurrent sentence for a misdemeanor interference with a law enforcement officer charge.
Billings was arrested on May 20th after a pursuit that began with the Kansas Highway Patrol trying to initiate a traffic stop for an alleged seatbelt violation.
According to the Patrol, the vehicle led him on a high speed chase through Atchison, which led to the trooper terminating the pursuit.
Later Atchison County Sheriff Deputies located Billings’ vehicle abandoned in the 1100 block of U Street.
After receiving tips from the public, authorities later located Billings after a lengthy foot chase.
Authorities later learned that he was wanted by the state of Missouri on a parole violation.
As part of the sentencing conditions, his sentence from Atchison County will run consecutive to any sentence handed down in his Missouri cases.
