(KTNC) - Peru State College is accepting applications from students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy through the Rural Health Opportunities Program – or R-Hop. The program is a partnership between Peru State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
R-Hop began in 1989, and is designed to address the needs of rural Nebraska by encouraging rural residents to pursue healthcare careers.
There are three seats available in the pharmacy program at Peru State. Students selected must be from a rural background, must be interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy, and be committed to practicing in rural Nebraska.
Students selected for the program will receive a full tuition waiver while they are enrolled at Peru State, and acceptance into the U-N-M-C College of Pharmacy. Students are required to maintain a 3.5 grade point average while enrolled at Peru State.
Applications for the R-Hop program are available online at www.peru.edu/rhop. Applications for the program are due by December 1st.
