( KNZA )-- The annual Hiawatha Maple Leaf Festival and Heritage Day will take place Saturday.
Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce Administrator Stacy Babb says there will be more than 50 vendors set up around the courthouse square in downtown Hiawatha from 9 to 4 featuring everything from antiques to health care to food.
In addition, Babb says there will be many other activities as well...( play audio )
The Hiawatha High School alumni will be sponsoring a chili cookoff and softball tournament to raise money for scholarships. Entries are due at the site on the north side of the square by 11 o’clock Saturday morning for the chili cookoff.
As part of the Heritage Day activities, Brown County Historical Society Director Eric Oldham says there will be a variety of demonstrations at their Agriculture Museum on East Iowa Street...( play audio )
In addition, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides down adjacent Windmill Lane. Also a garden tractor pull and swap meet will take place at the museum grounds.
A trolly will be available every half hour to take Festival goers between the downtown and Ag Museum.
