(KNZA)--He says it was time for a change.
That's the reason behind Doctor Steve Davies' resignation from the Horton City Commission(Play Audio)
His decision to resign was made public Monday during Horton's City Commission meeting, with Davies absent from the session.
Davies, who also serves as Superintendent for the South Brown County Schools of USD 430, says his role in that position is taking additional time, and his resignation will allow him to focus on those duties, as well as allow more time with family.
The Commission, which unanimously accepted Davies' resignation Monday, must now appoint a replacement.
Working with a ten day timeline, applications to fill the Horton Parks and Recreation Commission seat are now being accepted at City Hall.
They can be submitted through 2:00 on October 9th.
The Commission will then hold a special meeting on the evening of October 11th to make a decision.
Davies served as commissioner for around 6 years.
