Missouri River Corridor Meeting October 4th

(KNZA)-- Representatives of communities and businesses in the Missouri River Corridor between Omaha and Kansas City are invited to an October 4th meeting with roundtable sessions following focusing on the area’s efforts to recover from last summer’s Missouri River flood.

The meeting will be at 10 a.m. in the Bur Oak Room at Peru State College located at 600 Hoyt in Peru, Nebraska, with a noon luncheon.

Just a year ago, the Missouri River was out of its banks and causing bridge closings, interrupting highway traffic and affecting the livelihoods of farmers and small town businesses. But this year, the corridor between the metro areas of Omaha and Kansas City is rebounding and “open for business.”

That’s the message being carried by a coalition of communities and organizations in the states of Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. The members are in counties two deep on either side of the river and they call themselves “MINK.”
