Tractor Cruise Considered A Success

(KNZA)--Statewide recognition for rural Horton farmer, and Brown County Commissioner, Keith Olsen, following his leadership in continuing a Labor Day fund-raising tradition.

For the past seven years, Olsen has worked to organize the Northeast Kansas Tractor Cruise which supports the Angelman Syndrome Foundation's research for a cure to the neuro-genetic disorder which Olsen's daughter, Ingrid, was born with.

Now that this year's tractor cruise has come and gone, Olsen's efforts gain the attention of “Kansas Farmer” magazine, in an article written by Amy Hadachek.

Olsen tells us the annual cruise was a great event, except for the fact that, in Olsen's ongoing personal joke, not enough green tractors were seen on the Brown County cruise route(Play Audio)

Olsen had also hoped to see more local participation for 2012, but that didn't happen; nonetheless, strong regional support was given to the cause(Play Audio)

Olsen says he's already looking forward to next year, and gaining more local support, as he begins plans for the 8th annual tractor cruise on his never ending journey to find a cure for Angelman's Syndrome.
