( KNZA )--A committee has recommended that a new elementary school facility be built at the Axtell school site for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.
The Axtell/Summerfield building committee made it’s recommendation to the Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education this week.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Orth says the next step will be to bring an architect on board...( play audio )
The board voted to have the architectural firm, Hansen and Associates, work with the building committee on designs.
The board has voted to close the Summerfield Elementary School at the end of the 2012-2013 school year, with the students to attend school at Axtell.
