(KNZA)--A Facebook page, started last spring in support of a White Cloud man injured in an April crash, is now filled with memories and condolences, following his death.
Dyllon Butrick had remained hospitalized with injuries suffered in the April 6th Jefferson County wreck.
The 20-year-old was a passenger in a pickup truck struck by a semitrailer on U.S. Highway 24, east of Perry early that morning, as Butrick and his friend were returning from a country music concert in Lawrence.
Butrick was first taken to Kansas City's University of Kansas Hospital then later transferred for further treatment in Omaha, Nebraska, where he has remained a patient.
Family and friends continued to daily monitor his condition, as he underwent surgeries, remaining on a ventilator, but providing periods of hope when he was able to survive without use of the medical equipment.
Butrick's mother, Terri, in a Tuesday night Facebook post, indicated that he was not to undergo another surgery, as had earlier been expected, and asked for prayers. It was around 14 hours later that words of condolences were posted on the page following news of his death.
A celebration of life service for Butrick will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.
