(KAIR)--A Leavenworth woman is indicted for embezzling thousands of dollars while employed by a local credit union.
49-year-old Carla Welborn faces federal charges for the crime which allegedly occurred between January 1st, 2009 to January 26th, 2012.
According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom, Welborn is charged with one count of embezzling more than $304,899 while she worked for the Credit Union of Leavenworth County, located in the City of Leavenworth.
If convicted, Welborn faces a maximum penalty of 30-years in federal prison and a fine up to one-million-dollars.
