(KAIR) -- A Platte City man is recovering following a single vehicle crash Saturday on Interstate 29.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 1997 Chevrolet driven by 30-year-old Rocky Dacre was traveling southbound on I-29 near mile marker 17 when he traveled off the left side of the road and crossed over the median cable barrier, coming to rest momentarily in the median.
Dacre then accelerated into the northbound I-29 lane when a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 55-year-old Brian Kathol of Wichita struck the vehicle in its right front side before both vehicles went off the right side of the road.
Kathol was transported to north Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries while Dacre was transported to Saint Luke’s Northland with minor injuries.
The patrol says both occupants were wearing safety devices and that the investigation continues with any potential charges pending.
The accident was reported at 1:17 Saturday afternoon.
