(KNZA)--Despite the relief brought by rains during the August 25th weekend, it's too little, too late in many ways for farmers, both local and statewide, following a summer of heavy heat, and little moisture.
Because of that, the Jackson County Conservation District will host a Livestock Drought workshop on Wednesday evening, September 5th, at Red Rock Guest Ranch, located one and a quarter miles east of Soldier on 270th Road.
Starting with a dinner at 5:00, District Manager Roberta Spencer says a packed packed program will be featured during the evening(Play Audio)
Anyone who can benefit from the program is encouraged to attend the workshop, also sponsored by the Meadowlark Extension District, K-State Research and Extension and USDA-NRCS.
