Funding Provided for Building to House Artifacts in Dawson

 (KLZA)  USDA Rural Development has awarded the Pennsylvania Colony Historical Society of Nebraska $110,000 to be used toward the construction of a building to house the organizations artifacts in Dawson.

A $20,000 grant and $90,000 loan from USDA will be utilized to construct a building on the north edge of Dawson on the west side of Highway 75 just north of the Heim Cemetery.  

Daniel Pleiss,  President of the Pennsylvania Colony Historical Society of Nebraska, explains the origin of the group.  ( play audio  :40 seconds )

Pleiss says currently the artifacts to be housed are spread out in various locations.  ( play audio  :15 seconds ) 

The group has hopes of breaking ground for the new building very soon.  ( play audio  :20 seconds ) 

Pleiss says the USDA money will cover a large part of the building cost that is estimated at 185-200,000 dollars.  ( play audio  :20 seconds ) 

USDA funding was provided through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility program.
