( KNZA )--Add Jackson County to the list of counties lifting their outdoor burning bans.
Because of the beneficial rain over the weekend, the Jackson County Commission voted Monday to lift the burn ban that had been in place since late July.
Local fire chiefs and County Emergency Management Director Pat Korte made the recommendation to lift the ban.
The commission will reevaluate conditions in a few weeks to see if the ban needs to be reinstated.
Commissioners in Atchison, Brown and Doniphan Counties Monday moved to left burning bans that have been in place for those counties sometime.
Falls City, Nebraska also ended their burn ban.
