(KNZA)--Timed again with the Labor Day Weekend, the annual Wathena Fall Festival will be held in the Doniphan County Community.
The weekend will be filled with activities, starting Friday evening, and continuing Saturday, and Sunday, all held under the theme “Wathena Goes Hollywood.”
Northeast Kansas Enterprise Facilitation Facilitator Teresa McAnerney says the festival will include numerous activities, contests and a carnival(Play Audio)
The Fall Festival begins Friday evening, with live entertainment at 5:00, followed by the opening of booths and welcoming ceremonies, including the American Legion Honor Guard, comments from Mayor Robert Ryser , an invocation by Judge Roy Roper, and the National Anthem performed by Tara Gabriel.
The carnival begins at 6:00, followed by the annual pie eating contest, featuring this reporter sitting in as a contestant once again, at 6:30(Play Audio)
More local entertainment will be featured through the evening, once the pie contest concludes, with the carnival running until 10:00 Friday night.

Another full day of events, including a 3:00 parade, is set to happen in Wathena on Sunday(Play Audio)
Also at 8:00 Sunday evening, the carnival closes, officially bringing the annual Fall Festival to a conclusion for another year.
