(KNZA)--Due to the weather, completion of the 4-way intersection at Last Chance and 180th Roads in Doniphan County has been delayed.
The Doniphan County Highway Department said today that Herzog Contracting will resume work Friday to complete the intersection only, weather permitting. The intersection will be rock until the road overlay is completed.
The alternate route to access Last Chance is south on Mineral Point from Troy and west on 180th Road to Last Chance.
September 14th, 15th and 17th, an asphalt overlay is scheduled to be completed on Last Chance Road at the intersection and south for three miles.
Local landowners living on the road will be allowed access only with regular sized vehicles as permitted by Herzog. Large trucks and equipment will not be allowed onto the overlay during construction.
The project is being financed through the Kansas Department of Transportation Federal Funds Exchange Program.
