(KLZA) The Cobblestone Festival is underway in Falls City. The first event was the annual Falls City Volunteer Fire Department Youth Fishing Contest at Stanton Lake Thursday afternoon.
Friday events include a 6:30 p-m hot dog eating contest; the carnival opens at 6 p-m; a DJ will provide entertainment on stage on Stone Street and the co-ed kickball tournament begins.
The highlight of the Cobblestone Festival is the 11 a-m parade on Saturday that goes south on Harlan Street from 20th to 14th Street.
The Fun Run, 1 mile, 5 K and 10K begins at 7 a-m at Stanton Lake Park; the frog jump and Classic car and tractor show begin at 9 a-m and the Flea market and craft fair will be open from 9 a-m until 6 p-m Saturday and 1-6 p-m on Sunday.
Other Saturday events at the Little Miss and Mr. Cobblestone event at 9:45 a-m; a youth dodge ball tournament; the One Way Out band will paly from 1 – 3 p-m on stage with other music events throughout the day.
The Northridge church will have a 10 a-m service Sunday at Stanton Lake Park; The Little Tuggers Pedal Tractor Pull will be at 1 p-m with the carnival open 1 – 5 p-m. the Richardson County Museum exhibits are open Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The Falls City Idol competition will be at 2 p-m Sunday. The annual Area Fellowship of Churches Vespers Service will be held at 6:30 p-m at St. Puals Lutehran Church at 20th and Towle Street.
