(KAIR) -- A 52-year-old Atchison man, convicted last year of misdemeanor sexually motivated battery of a former employee at a rural Atchison restaurant is now facing over a quarter million dollar civil suit.
The female victim in the case, who was 17 at the time, has filed suit against Vern Dahlman, employee at Cedar Ridge Restaurant.
Dahlman was convicted November 15th for the charge after pleading no contest to making unlawful sexual contact with the girl on August 17th of last year and was sentenced to one year of supervised probation.
He was also required to write a written letter of apology to the victim and the suit alleges he hasn’t as of the case’s filing on Monday.
In the suit, the girl made four claims for relief, alleging severe emotional distress in four categories: sexual assault, sexual battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Each category is seeking 75 thousand dollars in damages.
