( KNZA )--An Oklahoma City, Oklahoma woman charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent distribute remains in the Brown County Jail on one million dollars bond after a motion for a bond reduction is denied.
Magistrate Judge Roy Roper Wednesday denied the motion filed by Andrew Delaney, the court-appointed attorney for Melissa Alvarez.
Judge Roper did grant a request to continue her preliminary hearing, which is now set for September 5th in Brown County Court.
Alvarez was arrested July 16th after a traffic stop south of Sabetha on U.S. 75 lead to the seizure of about 11 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

The traffic stop was conducted by the Kansas Highway Patrol, and once the alleged meth was discovered, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency was called in to provide assistance.
