Troy Postmaster Retiring
( KNZA )--Longtime Troy postmaster Janet Harness is retiring, effective Tuesday.
Harness has served as postmaster at the Troy office since October 1988.
The Kansas Chief reports she began her postal service career in 1997 when she became a part-time clerk at Highland. While in Highland, she also served as officer-in-charge at Lancaster, Potter and Elwood.
A reception, hosted by her family, will be held Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 at the Leonard Clary Community Center in Troy.
