(KTNC) - Richardson County residents will have a chance to get rid of old tires free of charge during a pair of scrap tire collection events scheduled early next month.
Richardson County Commissioners have scheduled the collections Friday, August 3rd in Falls City and Saturday, August 4th in Humboldt. The August 3rd event will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the County Shop on West 21st Street in Falls City.
The August 4th collection will be held from 8:00 a.m. till noon at the County Shop at 305 Nemaha Street in Humboldt.
All types of tires will be accepted during the collection events, with a few restrictions. Tires must be removed from their rims, there will be no early drop-offs; no semi-truckloads will be accepted; and no tires allowed from commercial operations or dealers. The collection is also limited to Richardson County residents only.
Funding of the tire collection was provided to Richardson County through the Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grant Fund of the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
