KLZA - The Nebraska Department of Roads is conducting an information meeting open house today in Auburn regarding improvements to U-S Highway 136 in and east of Auburn. The open house will be held from 4 – 6 p-m at the Auburn Senior Center, located at 1101 J Street, in Auburn.
The projects will be in Auburn and east of Auburn.
The project in Auburn involves rebuilding 1.38 miles of U-S 136 from 600 feet west of County Road 638 Avenue on the west side of Auburn through “F” Street.
The Auburn East project involves resurfacing 9.73 miles of U-S 136 Highway from “F” Street in the City of Auburn, through the Village of Brownville to the west end of the Missouri River Bridge.
Construction could start as early as the spring of 2014, depending on available funding and design. Work is anticipated to be completed in late fall of 2014.
Personnel from the State Department of Roads will be available to answer questions, receive comments and discuss any aspect of the proposed highway improvement project.
