(KNZA)--The 38-year-old Nortonville man, who crashed while flying an airplane in Wyoming last week, remains hospitalized in Colorado, but is apparently making a strong recovery.
According to a spokesman for the Western States Burn Center at North Colorado Medical Center, in Greeley, Colorado, Michael Childress continues as an inpatient, and is listed in good condition.
Childress was taken to there following the crash last Tuesday that happened while he was spraying for mosquitoes west of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Childress pulled himself out of the wreckage after the crash, and paramedics found him walking around the field where the plane went down.
He suffered burns to the upper half of his body and was, initially, listed in critical condition.
Wyoming authorities say the crash happened when the Cessna 188, contracted by Laramie County, Wyoming, and flown by Childress, became snagged on power lines.
