(KNZA)--A Chesapeake, Virginia man is found guilty Wednesday for the murder of a former Brown County resident.
Vantino Robinson was convicted of murder in the first degree stemming from the April 2011 death of Jared “Jerry” Geiger, who formerly lived in Robinson.
While no motive was established, prosecutors characterized Geiger's murder as “a horrendous and senseless act of violence.”
Robinson, 37-years-old at the time of Geiger's murder, faces life in prison and will be sentenced in October.
He lived in the same apartment complex as the 42-year-old Geiger.
Authorities say Geiger was killed following an apparent struggle inside the victims residence.
The Virginian-Pilot reported last year that Robinson's brother, Joel, found Jared dead when he arrived to pick him up for work.
The door to the victim's apartment was damaged, and signs of a struggle were viewed in the bedroom.
Joel Geiger discovered his brothers body in the bathroom.
