A Savannah, Missouri man will go to trial after pleading not guilty to two felony counts and 10 traffic charges Monday in Atchison County District Court.
The prosecution will present their case on September 11th against Ricky Billings.
Billings was arrested on May 20th after a pursuit that began with the Kansas Highway Patrol trying to initiate a traffic stop for an alleged seatbelt violation.
According to Trooper Bryan Clark, the vehicle led him on a high speed chase through Atchison, which led him to terminate the pursuit.
Later, Atchison County Sheriff Deputies located Billings’ vehicle abandoned in the 1100 block of U Street.
After receiving tips from the public, authorities later arrested Billings after a lengthy foot chase. Authorities later learned that he was wanted by the state of Missouri on a parole violation.
According to KQ2 News, Country Club Village police are seeking 11 charges against him in Andrew County,Missouri ranging from assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, to driving on a suspended license and speeding.
This stems from a brief pursuit on May 16th where Billings allegedly fled the scene of a traffic stop, hitting a patrol car.
A pre-trial conference is set for August 27th.
Billings remains in Atchison County Jail on 20 thousand dollars bond, but an Andrew County hold makes him ineligible to bond out.
