A fire at the Sac and Fox Casino shipping and receiving warehouse on June 20th is believed to have been caused by lightning.
In a press release, Sac and Fox Police Chief Kirby Robidoux said today ( Tuesday ) that surveillance footage shows lightning striking the warehouse.
The items that were inside the building have been determined to be a total loss. The building is not connected to the Sac and Fox Casino, but is located across the parking lot to the east of casino. The casino remained open and was not physically affected by the fire.
A firefighter, Stephen Ramirez with the Kickapoo Fire Department, was transported to the Horton Community Hospital and later to a Topeka hospital.
Lamar Shoemaker with the State Fire Marshall’s office investigated the fire.
