The city of Horton is looking at placing restrictions on the keeping of bees within the city limits.
Following discussion, the Horton City Commission Monday evening asked City Attorney Kevin Hill to draft an ordinance that would allow beekeeping in the city limits, but with certain conditions.
City Clerk Candy Schmitt presented information to commissioners on what other cities do.
Schmitt said the issue was brought up after commissioners received two recent complaints asking that the commission consider having some type of regulations on beekeeping inside the city limits.
