Longtime Falls City businessman Marlin O. Armbruster died Monday at the age of 89.
Armbruster was raised in the Shubert area. In 1951 he moved from Wisner and purchased what is now known as the Armbruster Motor Company. At that time, there were 13 automobile dealerships in Falls City.
Armbruster was very involved in the community having served as Mayor from 1968 to 1974, president of the Community Medical Center Hospital Board, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber of Commerce. In addition he was president of the Industrial Development Corporation, was a board member of the Downtown Development Corporation.
Armbruster also served as president of the Nebraska New Car Dealers Association.
Funeral services for Marlin Armbruster will be 2 p-m Thursday at the Dorr & Clark Funeral Home in Falls City.
