Falls City Power Problem Updated

Falls City Utility Superintendent Alan Romine says despite rumors to the contrary, there will not be any work done this weekend to fix a power line failure that occurred just over two weeks ago.
    One of two lines coming out of the power plant that put the electricity into the grid burned up. The initial power outage affected much of the downtown business area on Stone Street, Chase Street and Harlan Street. Romine says only some of the equipment needed to repair the problem has arrived.
    Romine says when the work is scheduled, notice will be given to the public so they can prepare. But again, the repairs will not be made this weekend.
    At the time of the initial damage, the city urged residents of the Falls City Utility Department to conserve as much electricity as possible. If the second line supplying power to the grid goes down, there would not be a way to make a temporary fix.
